Baur au Lac

The food at the restaurant was exceptional, both in taste and presentation, and the atmosphere was amazing. I’ve included photos to show how beautiful everything is. I was also impressed by room service: it was incredibly fast, the quality was excellent, and everything was presented beautifully. The Émincé zurichoise was especially memorable, rich in flavor and perfectly prepared. My room at Baur au Lac was elegant, comfortable, and finished with lovely attention to detail. Everything felt refined but welcoming, and I loved the stay. From the setting to the service, it all felt luxurious, thoughtful, and flawless. I’d absolutely recommend Baur au Lac and would be delighted to return.

The atmosphere at Baur au Lac feels classy and elegant without being stiff. It’s easy to slow down, enjoy the moment, and take in the details, with people-watching as a nice extra. We paid around €50 per person for two cocktails each, and felt it was absolutely worth it. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and skilled at suggesting drinks that suit your taste. The menu balances creative modern cocktails with classics like an Old Fashioned, Whiskey Sour, and Bloody Mary, all prepared impeccably, as well as plenty of refined, innovative options if you want to try something different. A real benchmark for cocktails and service. Highly recommended.

I’ve never had a hotel experience like this. From the moment you walk in, there’s an indescribable sense of history and belonging, like coming home to somewhere you didn’t know you’d missed. The staff, from reception and the bar to the restaurant and room service, are at the top of their game and make you feel anything is possible. My room was impeccably made, with a big variety of items waiting in the minibar. The bed felt like a cloud, and with the blackout shades I had the best night’s sleep of any vacation. The only bad part was having to leave.

The breakfast was exceptional, simply amazing, and the staff and concierge were absolutely brilliant. My room at Baur au Lac was impeccably appointed with all the amenities I needed. I contacted the hotel a few times to ask for room changes, and everything was handled promptly and efficiently. It’s easily one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. I’d most certainly return and highly recommend it.
