The location earned most of my 2.7 stars, with plenty of good restaurants around. The neighborhood is quiet and charming from the outside, but inside the place shows its age. The rooms are so-so, and the elevator barely fits four people, or only two with luggage. There’s no front desk at night. Email communication was horrible. They’ll bill you at check-in, which is good, but don’t ask questions, because they keep repeating answers that are out of context. The people I was travelling with didn’t like this hotel.

The location seems to be driving up the price. The hotel feels worn out and tired, and badly needs renovation. Rooms are VERY small even by European standards. There’s no A/C when it gets hot, just a fan, and breakfast is no longer provided. Wi-Fi is slow and cuts out for hours without explanation. There may be no staff on site after 8pm.

The rooms were sparkling clean, and the staff very friendly. The location is excellent. But it was hot, and with no air conditioning and only one fan, the night was a bit uncomfortable for our toddler. We had to keep the window open, which meant road noise became a problem.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, easily one of the best I’ve slept in, and I’d recommend the hotel. Getting into the town center is easy by tram, and it’s walkable too. It was quite hot at the end of May, though, and there’s no air conditioning or mosquito net, so with the window open we had quite a few bugs and mosquitoes come in.

The rooms were clean and the staff lovely. It’s close to the lakefront and the opera house square, yet the location is quiet. Highly recommended.
