Storchen Zurich

I'm a regular at Storchen smoking lounge, and it's definitely a Zurich must. There's a great range of cigars, Cuban and New World, including some Honduras gems like Leaf by Oscar. I also like the drink selection and the service. I can't give five stars, though, because the ventilation is still rudimentary. In a cigar lounge that's essential, and when the bar gets busy it can become a problem for employees and especially guests. A staple hotel like Storchen shouldn't miss such a basic thing. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.

The best part of staying at the Storchen is how easy it is to explore from there. It sits by the Limmat River, with the Old Town, shops, restaurants, and major sights all an easy walk away. The river view is lovely, too. Inside, the hotel feels elegant and comfortable, and everything was impeccably clean. The staff made the stay especially welcoming: everyone I met was warm, professional, and helpful. From check-in to tips for getting around the city, they handled things with care. I’d happily recommend the Storchen Zürich for its location and service.

I had a balcony in my well-presented room, and the rooftop bar had lovely views. Breakfast was top quality, too. The hotel is in a great spot, and you can borrow the electric bikes for free. Most of the staff were fantastic, and when I ran into a few issues, Management handled them really well. The one letdown was that hotel guests don’t get priority for seats or tables. I’d still highly recommend staying here.

The breakfast buffet and the extra options were really good. Prices are high, but that’s Zürich standard, I guess. If you arrive by car, the hotel takes care of parking it. It’s our favorite place in town. The location works well, and the staff are kind and helpful. I’d recommend the beef tartar at the restaurant by the water. Definitely recommendable!
