Swiss Star Zurich Oerlikon

The apartment was fine, and management communicated exceptionally well before I arrived. It's affordable, basic accommodation near Oerlikon railway station. My one complaint was that the shower water was only lukewarm in the morning.

We paid over €800, but the apartment was filthy and the photos online gave a completely misleading impression. The furniture was very old and broken, rotten fruit was stuck in the fridge, the sheets seemed unchanged, and the place smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, as if people had been smoking inside for a long time. We booked for seven people but got only three beds and six pillows. The couch we were meant to sleep on was in an appalling, unhygienic state. There was no hand soap, shampoo, coffee machine, or detergent, and nothing else for basic hygiene or comfort. I took photos and videos, but Booking.com didn't help after I complained. This was the worst place I've stayed in, and it'll be my last time using their platform. For that price, they could have refurnished the whole apartment.

The room's bed was shallow and uncomfortable, and the sheets had visible stains, so it didn't feel clean or hygienic. The self-check-in hotel looked nothing like the advertised photos. Walkways, stairs, and the rest of the building were filthy and had a terrible odor that made me feel sick. I can't believe a place like this operates as a hotel. It was by far the worst accommodation I've encountered, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The hard floors were nice, and I liked that the place had shutters, except in the room without any blinds. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were thin and lumpy. There were ants in the kitchen, and no washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, or sponges had been left. One room's light didn't work. Drying clothes took four and a half hours. I tried three dryers, and the good one was the middle dryer in the laundry room that has only dryers.
