Cooking here was a struggle. The dorm kitchen is tiny, far too small for three people, let alone the 13 who may need to share it. The saucepans are stacked in the oven. Even alone, making and eating food is difficult because there are very few utensils, and no salt, pepper, or oil. The private-room kitchens are also small and poorly equipped. Don't expect to be able to cook at this hostel. The bathroom is cramped too. There are only two showers, they almost never have hot water, and the flow is weak. In the six-bed dorm there were just two lockers. The owner has added more, but they don't feel secure. The owner runs the hostel by herself and regularly asks guests to help carry gas bottles or look after the place while she's away. That means you have to trust whichever guest is left in charge. Yet when I needed a service, she wanted to charge extra. After a mountain expedition, I needed a shower before my night bus and was asked to pay CL$5000. I think the owner is greedy and doesn't understand tourism. For the high price she's asking, I think you can find somewhere better in San Pedro.

The room itself was comfortable and pleasant, and the owner's a very friendly woman who checked how we were doing and helped when she could. She also pointed us to local restaurants with good, inexpensive food. The main street, with its tour agencies and restaurants, is just a few blocks away. Finding the hostel was less easy: it's right across from the bus terminal, but there's no proper street sign, so we took a long detour. The public Wi-Fi didn't work, and the room isn't soundproof, so conversations carry clearly.

The beds were really comfortable and everything was very clean. It's a nice hostel close to both the bus station and San Pedro's main street. The kitchen is on the small side.

My partner and I had to leave in the middle of the night because of a carbon monoxide leak, and we could have died. Two months later, they are still ignoring all messages from me and from booking.com representatives. Do not stay here.

The apartments are really good, and Magali, who takes care of everything, is so nice.
