Leisure Hostel

We were all exhausted, but the receptionist still denied our booking and left us in the hostel lobby. We arrived a little after midnight, after struggling to find the floor. People in the same building didn't know LEISURE HOSTEL, the directory gave no location, and our call to the hostel went unanswered. We wasted time trying to work out where to go. We gave the receptionist our confirmation number. He said our booking had been canceled, though we hadn't canceled it, and told us to contact Expedia because it was their fault. He said there were no rooms, but offered to accommodate us for more money than we'd already paid through Expedia. Our booking details matched what he had, yet he kept blaming Expedia for the trouble. It felt like a complete scam. Avoid this place at all costs. I believe it's a scam, and dealing with this "LEISURE HOSTEL" could cost you money, time, patience and personal information.

The place was dirty, stank, loud, and felt unsafe and dangerous to sleep in. The pictures on the website don't show what it's really like there, which was totally different and shocking. We traveled from the USA to Hong Kong after booking in advance, but when we arrived they said our room had been canceled and wanted more money. There was no cancellation on the website. The guy was rude, nasty and unprofessional, and didn't know how to speak to people. He tried to trick us into paying extra, but we're not stupid. It felt like a scam and fraud. They never refunded our money. I'm still dealing with the company I booked through, Expedia. The Leisure Hostel blames Expedia, which is funny. I hope this doesn't happen to others planning to book or stay here. It's not worth it. Please don't become a victim of scammers.

It's been okay so far for somewhere cheap. The whole building is a money changer, so you can exchange currency there. If they improved the rooms and facilities, the place could be really comfortable.

The owner is really friendly. It's budget friendly, and you get what you pay for.
