Hotel Riviere Boutique

It’s reasonably priced in a quiet, pleasant area, with a small convenience store two minutes away and a shopping mall nearby. There’s also a little restaurant downstairs, and breakfast is about $3. But I’ve stayed twice and had to ask for towels both times. There was no hand soap or shampoo or conditioner, and the coffee machine is always turned off. The coffee is cold or barely there, and never fresh.

The room was okay, and the shower was great, but the staff made me not want to return. They seemed completely uninterested and none spoke English. The restaurant staff didn’t know English either, which felt especially frustrating in 2023. They assumed I was American, and I think that worked against me. There were also power cuts. The coffee machine has never worked, and they can’t be bothered to clean it.

The location was excellent, and breakfast with an arepa was good. The staff were very kind and even made coffee while I waited to check in.

There’s no elevator, so getting around would be difficult for anyone with reduced mobility. The TV never worked, and the person sent to fix it didn’t even know where they were. Staff seemed completely inexperienced, knew nothing, and were no help unless you begged them to do something. This might be fine for a quick night, but I’d look elsewhere for a longer stay. Nothing about it was good, and I definitely don’t recommend it. You get what you pay for.
