Getting there is a little difficult, but it's worth the effort. Jorge is an amazing host, and the place is completely quiet and relaxing. Bring some food along, since there's not much to buy at the local shop. If a peaceful getaway is what you're after, this is the place.

I felt like part of the family during my few days at Urantia Beach, right on Sabanetica beach. Jorge is such a welcoming host, happy to share his spirit and way of life with the people he welcomes. It's a fishing village far from mass tourism, perfect for switching off, enjoying the beaches and nature, surfing, and chatting with locals. Just amazing.

Public transport is hard to find online, but Jorge helped arrange a local bus and moto taxis from San Onofre. We spent three relaxing days at Urantia, right on the beach, in a peaceful spot with very few tourists. Jorge was an amazing host. The waves were calm for the first two days, then just right for a surf lesson with Jorge on day three. I'd definitely come again.

I took surfing lessons, which were great for a beginner. Jorge and the Caribic Ocean give you time to find your balance and get a feel for surfing. Jorge made sure I was well and safe before I arrived and even as I traveled on. I can't say enough about how glad I am to have met him. I had a vaccination problem that he helped sort out, and when I left Columbia, I rode with him to Cartagena. He's much more than a host. Urantia is a small, cozy village far from big tourism. It was easy to relax, lose track of the day, and feel part of the columbian way of living. The stars are amazing on a clear night. Miss Mona's food was delicious and the portions generous. There are two stores for essentials like beer and cigarettes, and Miss Oliveras Store was my favorite. For anything special, you should probably buy it in Son Onofre. I slept outside in a hammock, but there are several nice sleeping spots, and some fancy ones were under construction while I was there. I decided pretty spontaneously, without much planning, to make Urania my first stop in Colombia. I'm glad I did. I spent 7 days at the beach and hope I never forget them. Jorge and Juan David became good friends, and I had a really good, funny time with them. If I come back to Colombia, I'll make sure to visit Jorge's place again. All the best to Urania beach and its people. PS: Shout out to Juan David. Hope you're doing well and finished the pool, bro.

This is a place for enjoying the calm sea and pristine beaches where fishermen live. Jorge is a wonderful person and a great host, very kind and committed to helping the community develop.
