Cabañas Tequendama - Parque Tayrona

The lockers are a good size and feel very secure, with a 50000 COP deposit. You can pay by card here too. We stayed in the hammocks after hiking in, and they were very comfy, with big fans to keep us cool. The power goes off around 10pm, which they don’t tell you, but it was already cool enough that it didn’t bother us. It’s peaceful here, unlike San Juan, which was packed with people. The shared showers and toilets were in good condition. There’s a lovely sunset beach next door, though you can’t swim there. Food at the restaurant is about double the usual price, but you can easily find good food and sandwich or snack stalls farther along the path. My main gripe is the amount of plastic they use, like single-use mayonnaise packets in a national park. I’d highly recommend the place overall, but book ahead so you don’t get caught out by entrance prices.

It’s been over two months, and I still haven’t received the reimbursement for the two tents I was charged for twice. They say payment upfront is the policy, but then they took the money from my account 4-5 days after I checked out. This feels like a clear abuse on their part. I need a response now.

The tents are comfortable, and the Wi-Fi at the front is very good. Breakfast was included, though the portions were pretty small. Drinks cost more than at places just five minutes away, and I don’t think the showers get cleaned every day. Watch out for house poop.

I’d live here if I could. It’s an incredible dream retreat, tucked up high inside beautiful Tayrona National Park, with the beach only a few steps away. The rooms are gorgeous and rustic, the service is personable and great, and the location is unbeatable. I’ll definitely be back.
