The Tranquilo Lodge

Christophe and Sebastan were attentive and wonderful owners, and they and the hotel staff stayed on top of our itinerary every day to make sure we had what we needed before heading out on tours. They made us feel like family. When our luggage didn't arrive, they personally took us to and from the airport, then went back twice to retrieve it while we were out snorkeling. The grounds are beautiful, the views stunning, and the rooms clean and comfortable. The restaurant food was excellent, and they prepared special gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan meals for us. We loved that the hotel was quiet, peaceful, and lovely after days of snorkeling, visiting Corcovado Park, and horseback riding. We had a fantastic, unparalleled stay at the Tranquillo. This place is an absolute find, delightful in every way!

The meals were one of my biggest surprises. They're all included and chef's choice, which made me nervous at first because I'm a picky eater. But they listened to my concerns and worked with my preferences, and every breakfast, lunch, and dinner was incredible. Fresh, creative, and consistently delicious. I looked forward to every meal, which says a lot. We stayed at Tranquilo Lodge in Drake Bay, and the views alone made the trip worthwhile. Jungle, ocean, and wildlife everywhere, it felt like living inside a nature documentary. The owners, Kristoff & Sebastian, and their staff are hands-on and genuinely care about your experience. By the end, we felt we'd made real friends rather than just stayed as guests. They go out of their way to make sure everything is right, and that kind of hospitality is rare. It's peaceful, beautiful, and authentic, and run by truly amazing people. If you want to disconnect, recharge, explore Drake Bay, and be treated like more than a room number, Tranquilo Lodge is it. We spent the tail end of our two weeks in Costa Rica relaxing here. The spa was fantastic, and we ate ourselves silly at the on-site restaurant, which rivals the best hotel restaurants we've visited. The road in is rough and the weather can change by the minute, but isn't that why you're coming to the Osa P? The views are spectacular, the accommodations lovely, and the staff are some of the best in the service industry. You can head out for adventure or sunshine, or just relax. I dare you not to love this place. I triple dog dare you. Worth the trip, worth the money, worth every penny. We shall return.
