Villa Escondida La Fortuna

Villa Escondida was a lovely place for our first visit to La Fortuna. It’s a newer property, a few minutes from the lively downtown, so shops, restaurants and attractions are close while the house still offers the quiet mornings and nights we wanted for recharging. The house sleeps six comfortably, with two bedrooms and a loft containing two twin beds. There were plenty of towels and linens, and the kitchen had a cooktop, microwave, coffee maker and enough equipment for us to make meals. We also appreciated the washer and dryer, which meant we didn’t head home with a pile of dirty clothes. The back patio has a forest feel. We listened to birds and frogs, saw butterflies and hummingbirds, and might have spotted rarer wildlife if we’d been lucky.
