Hotel Moctezuma

Rosa, who manages the place, was wonderful and really helpful. The kitchen is very well equipped, and in the daytime it's quiet with plenty of spots to work, so it could suit a digital nomad. The Wi-Fi was the worst we've ever had anywhere, though. We spent $70 USD on other internet access so we could do our jobs, which pretty much wiped out the savings from the cheap stay. The big patio right above the town square is perfect for taking in the beach view, and we spent a lot of time there. But the square fills with people drinking and partying almost every night. We stayed 10 days and had only one or two quiet nights. We wanted to love this place, but the noise and internet need fixing.

Two bars on either side started blasting extremely loud music at 9 pm on Thursday and kept at it until around 2 am. There was no way to sleep. When we checked in, we asked about noise and the front desk person said there might sometimes be "some noise." We feel they deliberately misled us, since the staffer must have known what to expect. We'd strongly advise against staying here unless you're planning to party all night and only need somewhere to leave your luggage.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but really enjoyed the restaurant. The service was good, the food decent, and the prices reasonable, all with a beautiful ocean view. We had tacos, patacones, empanadas, and micheladas. Everything hit the spot.

Three days of barely any sleep because of nonstop loud music. There was one party to the left and another to the right. I'm glad to be leaving. The room was disgusting, and the receptionist was never there.
