For the price, I’d be surprised if you could find better. There’s overnight parking in a private lot, a well-kept pool with showers and bathrooms, and great staff. The room is basic but has what you need. Just know they don’t provide shampoo or conditioner, so bring your own. They’re doing some basic construction now, which should be finished in a week or two. I’d suggest staying in April or later in 2026. Like most hotels in town, there’s some road noise at night, though it seemed less bothersome here than at most other places. Earplugs or a sound machine on your phone should help.

The staff were pleasant and helpful from the start, and their professionalism and courtesy did a lot to improve the stay. They tried to help when we reported the weak shower pressure, but couldn't fix it. The room itself fell short on some basics. We arrived in the early evening in March 2025. There wasn't a traditional lobby, just a front desk in a corridor. We got a physical key and two remotes, one for the TV and one for the AC. Room #8 was upstairs on the second floor, with no elevator. Our tour guide had driven us there, so we didn't know where the parking lot was. The room was a decent size, with a queen bed and two twin beds. The queen had no independent spring system, so movement carried between people sharing it. It came with two pillows, while each twin had one. Across from the queen was a wall-mounted flat-screen TV above a small desk and chair. There was also a mini fridge, a cabinet with hangers and two drawers, a safe that previous guests had left locked, and one nightstand between the beds. The bathroom was roomy enough, though there wasn't much sink space for toiletries. We got three low-quality towels and three small bars of soap, but no shampoo, conditioner, tissues, or hair dryer. There was no lamp, iron, ironing board, alarm clock, clock, or microwave either. The toilet paper holder was missing its rod. The shower head had been moved from the side wall to the ceiling for a rain shower, leaving the old pipe exposed. Its nozzles were clogged, so the water came out unevenly. Pressure was very low, making it hard to rinse off soap and shampoo and leaving me feeling unclean. The drain was slow too. The outdoor pool was heated and open until 10 pm, but there was no slide or hot tub. When we asked for pool towels, the front desk told us to use the room towels. The facilities need improvement, but the staff's attentiveness and willingness to help made a real difference.

The pool and picnic area are lovely, and the rooms look pretty, with nice decor and tiling. The air conditioner worked well, there were plenty of windows, and I liked having a comfortable desk area. Room service was great, everything was clean, and they provided hand soap and shower towels. Still, there are lots of little issues that made the room less comfortable than it looked. Construction behind and above most of the rooms woke me with hammering at 7am. I think they were nailing something into the wall just behind my headboard. That left me with a headache and reaching for earplugs. Without that, I would've given the stay four stars. The door locks but doesn't latch, which is a hassle if several people share one room and have just one key. The shower is barely big enough to stand in, and moving to soap up means banging your elbows on the walls. No shower soap, shampoo, or conditioner was provided. The fridge was unplugged and broken, though I plugged it back in. Bathroom storage was just a hand towel rod, a door hook, and a tiny glass shelf, about 100x600mm (4in x 2ft). The blanket only covered my feet, so I was left with sheets, and the mattress reminded me of my college dorm. Free Wi-Fi ran at about 2 Mbps, fine for music and websites if you wait a few seconds. It reminded me of a Honda Accord turned inside out: attractive to look at, but not as pleasant to be in. The room wasn't bad overall, and for a budget stay near the ferry port, I'd still say it's a good option.

The ferry was only a 2 min walk away, which made the location really convenient. We loved the pool, and our clean room had everything we needed, especially the AC and fridge. The staff were kind and helpful too. I’d absolutely recommend Hotel La Punta.

The grounds are well kept and look lovely as you walk up, and the pool was nice, though every chair was taken and there weren't enough. The place was reasonably clean, except for our room floor. We got one medium bath towel each, but no hand towels or washcloths, and there was no soap or shampoo. The TV only showed static. The bed was hard as the floor, and all they provided was a sheet, no blanket at all. At least the coffee in the morning was fantastic. We needed it after a rough night.
