ECOTICA Boutique Hotel & Spa.

We spent a really enjoyable stay here and would happily come back. The location is great, and most afternoons we could spot a Scarlet Macaw, a Toucan, or a monkey from the pool. YOLO was handy for a bite, and sometimes there was live music. Gilbert, Andre, and the bar staff were much appreciated. Maria and Delana were wonderful for facials or massages at the spa, and Moses was a delight at the pool, whether he was bringing breakfast or serving drinks.

Watching white faced monkeys from our balcony and by the pool was a real treat, and we also saw pairs of scarlet macaws flying over the water. The suites and bungalows sit among nature, so we were lucky to see wildlife during our stay. Staff at the restaurant, Moses and Andres, were attentive, kind, and helpful. There are two restaurants attached to the hotel, plus a game and arcade area that works well for families. Charming place to stay, and we’re glad we chose Ecotica!

Maria at the spa made us feel like royalty. Her care, mindfulness, and attention to detail were beyond any spa experience I’ve had, and I’d highly recommend her. The grounds stayed spotless, and the poolside breakfasts were delicious and included each morning. Beaches, restaurants, and shops are all within walking distance, and getting an Uber was easy too. Couldn’t be happier with our stay.

The setting and wildlife won me over. The grounds feel like a real jungle, with capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, and even the occasional agouti wandering around the pool. It was like having a little wildlife show right there. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the room was huge, with two enormous double beds and enough space to toss a ball across it. Ecotica Boutique Hotel is a lovely place to feel like a duchess lost in the tropics. A few things did test me. The many stairs between the hilltop rooms and pool were quite a workout, and breakfast was very minimal, with fruit portions so small they looked like confetti. The bathroom has seen better days, too. Figuring out the shower felt like a mechanical engineering exam, and getting hot water out of it was practically a religious experience. I’d read comments about bar noise but didn’t hear any, perhaps because I sleep like the dead, or maybe it was just a quiet night. Even with the awkward shower, stairs, and sparse breakfast, I was thoroughly charmed by the room, jungle, animals, and calm.
