Hotel Tamarindo Village

We only needed a place for our first night before moving to our Airbnb, and Tamarindo Village Hotel was a lovely start. The setting feels like a little jungle, though town is still an easy walk away, and the rooms feel private despite the small size of the hotel. Our room was roomy and clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the three beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast suited us, with extra choices available for a fee. We especially liked the coffee by the pool, watching birds and hearing monkeys. Thanks to Steve and the staff for a great first night in Tamarindo.

I wouldn't stay here again. We were told a car would be sent for us, but it never arrived, and the owner at the front desk didn't seem concerned. The hotel is a long way from the beach, with an uphill walk the whole way. The ham and egg omelette at breakfast was also a problem. The ham seemed to sit out too long while they cooked, and it had gone bad.

We couldn't stay this time because our plans changed, but dealing with the team was a great experience. They responded quickly, were professional, and were genuinely pleasant to work with. Their care before we even checked in left me confident this is a high quality hotel. I'd recommend it.

The owner made a small room access problem easy to sort out, personally taking care of it quickly and thoughtfully. That kind of welcome fit the rest of our stay at Tamarindo Village Hotel, a family run place where he was friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. He told us about owning it for 11 years and watching Tamarindo change, which made the visit feel personal. It's set back from the main strip on a hill, so it was peaceful and had lovely views, while still being an easy walk to everything in Tamarindo. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. I'd happily return.
