The antique pieces give this lovely little hotel so much character. The owners are a really nice couple and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Our room was clean, and breakfast was great, with tea served in lovely teapots. The location is perfect for exploring the walled city on foot. Park the car when you get there and leave it until you're heading out!

The family were friendly and the location was great, but I didn't sleep well in the rather old room. I asked to pay in euros because Monzo Bank doesn't charge me a foreign exchange fee, but they converted the payment to British pounds without asking. Their bank used a ridiculous 1:1 euro to pound rate. It was meant to be €64 for 2 nights, but I was charged £64, so I effectively lost £11 because of their mistake.

Altun Tabya has kept its vintage charm while still giving you a warm hosgeldiniz. It's on one of the old town's lovely little streets, a charming spot to sit for breakfast or an evening drink. The location is easy to find, and the rooms now have AC. Wifi is available both inside and outside.

Set within the castle walls in historic famagusta, the hotel is within walking distance of all the historic sites there. The owners are very helpful. Selket, one of them, is a writer and scholar who can tell you about the history of cyprus and famagusta, including the Lusignan, venetian, Genoese and Ottoman periods and the war of 1974. There's also a library next door with books in English about Cyprus and more.

We've stayed here twice now. It's a lovely hotel right in the center of Famagusta, and the owners are very friendly. They helped us plan our trips, and I'd recommend Altun Tabya Hotel to everyone.
