A lovely place, and the people are lovely too.

It was okay.

The house itself is beautiful, though the conversion into a guesthouse has changed it, and I thought the price was nowhere near what was offered. I can’t recommend staying here. We booked room number two. It was clean, but the private bathroom is across a shared corridor and is absolutely tiny. The shower cubicle is tiny too, with a plastic curtain that feels like it might stick to you. The room is very retro, like a boarding house in Písek '82, apart from the LCD TV. The mattress is soft foam, and the towels and bedding smelled strongly of washing powder. When I arrived in the afternoon, I wanted to ask the owner if we could have breakfast fifteen minutes earlier the next morning because of our train. She assumed we didn’t want breakfast and jumped in to say she wouldn’t refund the breakfast money, 2x218 CZK(!). Why not? In the end, we packed up, left her all the money, and slept somewhere else. Also, payment was in cash without a receipt.

We had a clean room with a view over the river and forests, and the breakfast was tasty and filling. The owners were kind and helpful. The villa is beautiful and in a quiet spot not far from the center. Thank you.

It’s completely quiet here, with a big garden for relaxing, a swimming pool, and a café where breakfast is served. I’d recommend paying extra for breakfast during your stay. You can park in the yard by the house, and the center is about a ten-minute walk away. From the villa, windows, and terraces, there are views of the city, valley, and especially the bridge. The owner is very particular about cleanliness, so everything is spotless, though there are warning signs all around about what you can and can’t do. The building is architecturally interesting, but its conversion into apartments took away from the interior. The current owners turned those apartments into a guesthouse, though the modern rooms don’t have much historic character. It can work for a stay with children. Two cuddly cats are there to greet you, but dogs aren’t allowed.
