At about 10:40 p.m., after we showed the booking papers I had printed, the woman at the guest house said she hadn’t known there were four of us, that we had three rooms, or that we were staying two nights. She got angry when I said it was wrong that she didn’t know what we’d booked. She told us to go elsewhere and said she’d call the police if we didn’t leave. We said she should call them. We were willing to stay at least that night even though the place was small for us, but she said a group was arriving the next day and she had to give them rooms here and there. We sat on a couch while she spoke with two or three people for about 15 minutes. Then five policemen arrived with a large dog. At first they didn’t ask us anything, and the dog howled at us while they shouted as if we were prisoners. They could have controlled it, but didn’t. SUZIE from Guest house (Legerova 616/78 Prague) watched and seemed to enjoy it. The officers took our four passports and told us to shut up. When I asked why, one of them hit me in the face. My mother and sister screamed, and the dog howled even more. We were put out on the street around 11 p.m. and had to find another hotel. We got one nearby for a night, then stayed in a different neighborhood the next night. When our passports were returned, they insulted our nationality and religion. I’ve never experienced police or a guest house like that, or even heard of behavior like it outside movies and YouTube videos. They ruined our Prague trip and badly affected our mental well-being. She said at the start that she hadn’t clearly received the information about how many people were coming or how many nights we’d stay. I’m going to do what I can to defend our rights, and recommend staying away from this person.
