Hotel Dorint Kurfürstendamm Berlin

I was left with a very good impression of the hotel and would consider returning. The rooms are comfortable, the atmosphere cozy, and the breakfasts excellent, with a wide choice of good-quality food. Service was high level, and the staff were polite, attentive, and clearly dedicated to making guests comfortable. They handled requests professionally and tried hard to help in different situations. There was an unpleasant incident involving damage to a car in the underground parking. The hotel explained that the facility is public and it doesn't take responsibility for incidents like that. For someone paying for parking through the hotel, though, those terms aren't always clear. Since this could happen to anyone, guests should be told clearly in advance what the parking conditions are and what responsibility the hotel accepts.

The walls between rooms let through enough noise that neighbors could be distracting. I asked to move, and reception were very accommodating and found me a suitable room. The location is perfect, the room spacious and comfortable, and the staff were kind and helpful. Ms. Michel deserves a special thanks for welcoming me warmly and doing her best to address my concerns.

The location was great, and the young man at reception was friendly. The room and bathroom were spacious, but the room didn't feel inviting, partly because of the color choices. The old carpet and sofa grossed me out, the bed wasn't properly made and the sheet was coming off the mattress. Worst of all, there was dust collecting on the bed frame and a questionable liquid that hadn't been wiped off it, as shown in the picture. Two-in-one shampoo and body wash also doesn't feel like standard five-star service. The hotel feels very dated and needs a renovation or restyling. Its hallways are dark and creepy, and the elevators squeak.

I won't be back. The location was good, breakfast acceptable, and the rooms excellent, but reception left me with a terrible feeling. I didn't feel welcome on arrival. At checkout the employee didn't smile or thank me, and kept looking down at the desk instead of meeting my eyes.
