Hotel Berlin Köpenick by Leonardo Hotels

The room made the stay for me: lovely water and yacht views, comfortable pillows, and everything was clean. We had complimentary water, tea, and a coffee machine too. On the third floor, there’s a big open lounge with oversized sofas and a panoramic view right by the elevator. The spacious reception, with its stylish colors and lighting, made a great first impression. I really loved NYX Hotel Berlin and would happily stay again.

There’s plenty to do here, with free billiards, table tennis, and mini basketball. The design is stylish, the staff are very friendly, and the rooms are nice with AC. The location is spot on too.

The staff were pleasant, and I don’t think the problems were their fault. Still, I wouldn’t choose this place if you expect a proper hotel. It felt more like a hostel, though it may be fine by that standard. The rooms are old, the mattresses and pillows were very uncomfortable, and the sheets smelled old and unwashed in both rooms after they moved me for that reason. Bar and restaurant staff touched food and other things with bare hands. Both mornings, around 9, there was drilling in the hallway, apparently for reconstruction. There’s no supermarket nearby, and the place feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere.

The breakfast was a real highlight, with lots of choice and good quality, especially the fresh fruit. We also liked the treats at reception, the friendly staff, the great room, and the reasonable price. One snag: the bar didn’t keep track of who had bought what, and the person in charge of our group was charged about 150 euro for unpaid tabs. Maybe everyone should pay as they go. Apart from that, everything was fabulous!
