Odyssee Globetrotter Hostel

The bar gave the hostel a good atmosphere, and it was easy to meet people there and have a drink together. Someone from the crew was always behind the bar if you had a question or just wanted a beer. They were friendly, and the showers and toilets were cleaned every day. It was handy to have a locker for luggage too. The hostel was very good.

A nice, inexpensive hostel with friendly staff and good furnishings and equipment. Even in a room for 20 guests, you can have your own private space. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting east Berlin.

The bar was cosy and the prices were very reasonable. Breakfast cost 3 Euros and was good value: all-you-can-eat cereal, bread, ham, cheese, and good coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was WiFi. My basic double room was clean and comfortable, though a little cold. The hostel was good value and in a handy East Berlin spot near both U-Bahn and S-Bahn. I stayed in November 2012 and would recommend it and come back.

The location worked well for seeing the city centre during the day and spending evenings around Friedrichshain district. The hostel had a good bar for "pre-drinks", helpful staff, awesome showers, and a nice breakfast. The beds creaked and sagged, though they were still comfortable, and the pull-out lockers underneath got in the way whenever I needed my things. To be fair, they were fitting proper wooden slats while I was there, so it looked like they were fixing the sagging.
