Ferienwohnung Bankwitz

Really bad experience. There was no hotel, and I couldn’t get into the apartment. They told me to find the key under the garbage, but it turned out to be the wrong key. I cancelled the booking and they kept my money. Not recommended!

Everything felt neglected and unhygienic. The room, bathroom, kitchen, and windows were barely cleaned, if at all, and the towels and bedding smelled awful. At least the toilet was clean. My bed was a disaster too, with a broken slatted frame, a sagging mattress, and no mattress protector. This “holiday apartment” has rooms called “Romeo” and “Julia,” two of the three rooms in a neglected private apartment. The host was friendly, but offering guests a place in this condition felt deeply disrespectful. Even 20 euros a night would be too much. Never again.

My girlfriend and I booked a private room, then tried to check whether the shared kitchen and bathroom were hygienic during the COVID-19 pandemic. We first emailed and got no reply. The property’s phone number only became available after we booked, and repeated calls went to an answering machine saying they’d notify us when the person was available. Weeks passed without any follow-up. We chose different accommodation in the end. A property that’s this hard for guests to reach feels completely unprofessional, and I can’t recommend it.
