Lowenbräu Köln Hotel & Restaurant

After a full day of exploring, we had dinner at Löwenbräu Köln, just around the corner from our hotel. It felt cozy and welcoming as soon as we stepped inside, and the food was excellent. Even better, we were celebrating exactly 28 years since we first met, so it was a lovely way to end the evening.

Room 17 was glorious, especially the view and the art, and there’s a duvet under the bedspread. I skipped treats at the market so I could come back for a meal in the cozy restaurant. The beef goulash was rich and warming, and they made me the best plate of vegetables I’ve had anywhere. What a charming little gem. It exceeded my expectations. You walk straight into a magical bar and restaurant that feels original, even if it’s probably been restored.

The atmosphere and food are top tier, and our server Mo(sp?) was so kind and made the experience that much better. He took time to tell us about the building’s history and kept our kölsch from ever getting empty. What a gem. We’ll definitely return whenever we get the chance.

The restaurant and bar’s decor and ambience were a highlight for me, and the breakfast included in our room rate was excellent. The hotel and restaurant were warm and welcoming, with beautiful views of the Rhine. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Mohammed, our waiter, was attentive and took time to chat. He was a very pleasant, clever gentleman. The location is ideal, an easy walk from the station through a pedestrian area full of restaurants, bars, and life. Five stars for this place.
