Motel One Köln-Altstadt

The rooms aren’t spacious, but there’s enough room for two adults and to lay out suitcases, plus a small desk, lots of outlets, and good lighting. No appliances. The bathroom has useful counter space and a very nice provided hairdryer. The AC didn’t get very cool, perhaps it was faulty in our room, but the weather wasn’t too hot and an open window was enough. This area can be noisy. There’s a comfortable lounge and reception area with free coffee, and the hotel is modern and clean. Breakfast was fine, with a little variety and some vegan and vegetarian options. The bread and jams were especially good. Parking was easy: they have part of a large garage, and even if their section is full, there are definitely spaces in the same garage. The staff were helpful, the location is great, and the price is excellent. I’d definitely stay again.

Comfortable and warm, with a fabulous central spot for getting around Cologne. Breakfast was excellent too. We'll be back!

Our River Cruise company put us here for 3 nights after our cruise was cancelled, so I can’t speak to the price since it was already paid. We found the location good, about a leisurely 20 minute walk to the Cathedral/train station area. The rooms were comfortable, the included breakfast was great, and the employees were wonderful. We especially liked chatting with the night bar manager. I’d recommend this hotel.

There’s a supermarket around the corner, and it’s a short walk into the city centre. The hotel sits in a quiet area of Cologne, with a nice interior and an outdoor seating area at the front. Rooms are a good size, and the bar is reasonably priced. Breakfast is available for an extra payment. My only complaint is that the bar staff shouldn’t argue about whether a drink is flat, they should just replace it.
