I stayed for two weeks on a work trip, booked by a company I worked for, and was shown two different rooms. Both were dirty and smelled like old ashtrays. The hotel was unkempt, and the service was unacceptable. There was no hot water at midday or midnight on the first day, but the receptionist, who also seemed to be the cleaner, director, waiter, and general factotum, acted as if that was normal. Probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. I’d give it zero stars. Please don’t go.

There are plenty of eateries and small mini supermarkets nearby, and the tram is very convenient. It’s a few tram stops from the main train station, Haupbanhoff, or about a 20-minute walk. I’d stay again. For the price, it was good value: the room was spacious, cleaned daily, had hot water and large windows. Breakfast buffet was good too. Reception only seemed staffed in the morning for guests checking out. I arrived in the afternoon and had to use the door intercom, then collect my key from the counter. It felt mostly self-service, with little information such as the Wi-Fi password, though the morning receptionist was helpful. We only got one small bottle of sparkling water for the whole stay.

The private room was spacious, and the bathroom was large, clean, and hotel-standard. The location is handy, near restaurants, shops, Aldi, and the train station. A heads-up for weekend arrivals: nobody will be there, which can be a bit alarming, but use the intercom and you won’t be locked out.
