Hotel Petite Königsallee

I paid more for each of the two rooms I booked for my family than I’ve paid for four-star hotels in town, yet this place was nowhere near that standard. The room wasn’t clean, the sheets were stained, and the towels were dirty and marked with makeup. Customer service was very poor. Since there’s no front desk, I called the posted number for immediate help. The woman I spoke to sent someone else to look at the room, but she didn’t offer to replace the sheets or towels. This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The noise made it hard to sleep. We woke up at least ten times to doors slamming and other sounds from the hallway. The walls seem paper-thin, and even people entering neighbouring rooms with the noisy locks woke us. The rooms are so cramped there’s barely space to put your luggage, and the bathroom wasn’t hygienic. Showering flooded the whole bathroom, which wasn’t great either.

For what we paid, it was honestly a very bad experience, and I wouldn’t go back. The bed was fine, and the shower and bathroom were okay in general, but the bathroom door was awful: it had no lock and would sometimes swing open because it didn’t latch. Sharing a single room with friends was manageable, but that door was a real problem. On your own, you might put up with it for a short stay.

The bathroom looked fairly new, though there were large mold stains on the ceiling. Our room had three beds for three people, but it was far too tiny. Putting down our luggage blocked all the little paths between the beds. Noise was another problem. We weren’t facing a busy street, but the old-looking windows didn’t block much outside sound. Inside the building, every number entered on the keypad locks could be heard across the whole floor. The doors are so thin and the locks so loud that there was no getting away from the noise.
