Mike's Four - Hostel

The room was in good condition and the bathrooms were clean. The one thing that bothered me was the cigarette smell. They should air out the rooms more before guests arrive.

Mike is a real pro. My brother and I had a great weekend in Düsseldorf, and Mike’s four made it even better. The apartment has four rooms, all tastefully designed, and it honestly feels like a luxury hotel. Everything was clean, comfortable and well maintained. There’s Netflix, plus cold drinks, tea and coffee in the mini fridge. It’s about four subway stops from the heart of Düsseldorf, and the value for money is amazing. I’d definitely recommend it and will stay there again when I’m back.

I booked a private room for two, but was surprised to find that the bathrooms were shared. The men’s toilets were broken and the sink was out of service. The window looked directly onto another roof, which didn’t feel very safe and wasn’t much of a view, though nothing happened and it was safe in the end. At €60 a night for two people in Düsseldorf, the price was okay, but you can sometimes find better for that amount. Given the shared bathroom, I’d suggest booking a private room in a hostel instead.

My booking was cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, during a period when accommodation was in very high demand, just before Germany’s EURO24 opening game.
