Suite-Apartment-Essen

The good parts were clean rooms, a large bathroom, and comfortable beds. But the coffee they offered was undrinkable, and the reception staff came across as disrespectful and intimidating. During the day the radiators were blazing hot, yet the rooms stayed cold. The heating switched off around 10 pm, so they put noisy space heaters next to the beds. Smoke from the corridor and stairwell got into the rooms through poorly fitting doors. I was also charged €40 twice for visits of about four hours each, with no distinction between short visits and overnight stays. I know it’s in the contract, but it felt completely disproportionate. At three other hotels on my trip, visitors were welcome for free. Not recommended.

Lots of space, calm and cozy, and the owner was friendly. Just great.

The landlord is incredibly friendly, and the apartments are spacious and nicely designed. It’s centrally located near the train station but still quiet, with monitored parking right outside the building. A good fit for longer stays, such as work assignments. You wouldn’t get accommodation like this in the Alps or by the sea for this price. You can’t go wrong staying here.

We rented the two-bedroom apartment, or suite, for two people, and there was easily room for four. Everything was clean and tidy, with plenty of towels and a kitchen stocked for cooking. The landlords were friendly, the price reasonable, and the location central. Aldi and other shops are just around the corner, and it’s a quick trip to the city center or train station. We really liked it.
