Beautiful 360° Serviced Apartment in Frankfurt

I thought I'd done my homework by reading Agoda reviews, but this was far more disappointing than I expected. Agoda showed four stars and nice photos. After I checked in and paid the tax, I went up to the room. Less than five minutes later, someone knocked and told me my booking had been cancelled. They'd sent the cancellation notice just an hour before I landed in Frankfurt. A man moved my luggage out and told me to go downstairs to see his boss, and they gave me several different reasons for cancelling. I was in town for a trade show and needed somewhere nearby. The boss found me a temporary room for one night and left me to arrange the rest of the week myself. He promised it was a four or five minute walk to the exhibition hall, but the car ride took more than an hour. I insisted on going somewhere else and he ignored me. It was a very traumatic experience. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. If there were a negative star rating, I'd choose it.

I hadn't read any reviews before booking, and stepping into that corner was awful. There were drinkers shouting and scary-looking people everywhere. I stayed by the front door for less than a minute, then ran as fast as I could and cancelled right away. The area was terrible, and I can't recommend it at all.

The noise was awful. You could hear the neighbours and doors closing in the apartment complex kept waking me up. Party music bass, possibly from nearby erotic clubs, made my bed vibrate all night. The place also didn't seem very clean, and lots of things looked as if they hadn't been changed since the hotel opened. Some were worn out, broken or not working. A few more problems: the bathroom sink plug was stuck shut because its mechanism was broken, the kitchen hotplates were dirty, and there was an old coffee capsule left in the machine. The Wi-Fi was poor, the TV signal failed half the time, and the fridge light didn't work. I avoided switching on the bathroom light because the ventilation was unbearably noisy. Maybe changing the dirty filter would help.

It does the job, but check-in hours are limited and there are lots of dodgy characters hanging around outside the door. The room is basic, and some things were broken.
