Hotel Am Kurfuerstenplatz - Messe

We asked to change rooms or get reimbursed for the following night because we didn’t want to stay, but were told nothing could be done because the manager was apparently on vacation. The room was dirty, with marks on the walls like someone had spat there, plus what looked like signs of a previous fight, including holes in the doors and walls from punches. The website photos and description weren’t accurate. It said we’d have a city view, but we were on the first floor facing a wall. The bathroom also smelled strongly of cigarettes. DO NOT GO THERE!

I went through three different rooms, and every one was old, dirty, and smelled of cigarette smoke. The bedsheets were decayed, there were onion peels in the closets, stains across the walls, and dust throughout the bathrooms. Just don’t go here, you’d be better off sleeping in your car. Avoid it by all means.

The rooms are roomy, clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with free WiFi and good interior. Prices are affordable, too. Don’t miss the breakfast, it’s very good. The hotel is near the center of Bockenheim and the nearby subway station. Highly recommended.

They canceled our booking 3hs before we arrived, saying they couldn’t verify my credit card, had already sold our room, and the hotel was fully booked. They left us without anywhere to go for a while. Totally dishonest. Fortunately, we found a better place for less money. Maybe we should thank them in the end, since without the cancellation we might not have looked for an alternative. Stay away, there are lots of valid options in Frankfurt.
