10/10
There are loads of good bars and restaurants nearby, and we had drinks at the bar, which had a fantastic atmosphere. We’re definitely coming back. The ready-made spreads for breakfast rolls were super tasty, too. A beautiful place to stay, with the quality and reliability we know from our many stays at Motel One Hotels around Germany, plus a little more luxury, space, and service.

A lovely historic building, with very clean rooms and nice staff.

2/10
We booked two separate single beds, but arrived to find them pushed together. Someone came to separate them after we told reception, but the gap was only about 5 cm, which clearly wasn’t enough. The size and shape of the headboard also meant the beds had to sit partly under a shelf, making the arrangement uncomfortable and impractical. When I raised this, they offered an “upgrade,” but the room they proposed was no different from the one we already had. In the end, they just said “sorry” and didn’t fix anything. Housekeeping also forgot to leave fresh towels, and there was no phone in the room to call reception. Whatever you ask for, you hear NO. The reception staff handled things poorly, and the information on Booking.com was misleading. I’m very dissatisfied and definitely don’t recommend this hotel.

There wasn’t even a shelf for soap or a toiletry bag in the bathroom, so I had to put my things on the toilet lid. It felt like a public hospital or butcher shop bathroom straight out of the 1970s. There wasn’t even a bottle of water in the room. At 300 euros a night, it was totally not worth it.
