The mattress was okay, and I can see why the place was cheap. Still, I wish I’d read the reviews first, because they were all right. The new surprise was a bacterial infection in the water supply. Google said it was still at a low level, but that didn’t make me comfortable using the shower or brushing my teeth with the water.

The hotel was a reasonable distance from the main train station and city centre, but the area felt run down. Some staff weren’t helpful, and ants got into the room. One thing to know: you have to check in at Hotel Graf Moltke to collect the keys for the Acora City living apartment room.

The location near the main train station was convenient, but the area felt very unpleasant at night, with people using drugs and alcohol and using the hotel’s main doorway as a squat all night. Our stay was a disaster, and the hotel did nothing to help with the booking problem. We were there from Sept 16 to Sept 23. We’d booked on Booking.com as an “Apartment for 3 persons,” but the room we got was only meant for two and looked like the website photos for the “Apartment for 1 person.” When we tried to discuss it, we were sent to hotel Novum Eleazar, where reception couldn’t speak English. Emails to the different addresses on the website went unanswered. Booking.com eventually told us the hotel refused to discuss it or offer help. The room itself was poor quality too. The door buzzer was broken, bed quality varied depending on which one you got, and it was very hot at night even at the end of September. Service was lacking in other ways as well. We’d booked a parking space for 15 euro per day, but reception just handed us the garage keys and told us to work out how to open it ourselves. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

At night the area felt dodgy. Stay in a group, or you may get shouted at or hit. Sadly, that happened to my friend. There was noise all night from trains and drunk people outside, then police and construction workers in the morning. The rooms were large but dated, with no AC, little service, and no breakfast. They give you just one key, so you need to coordinate and make sure the only person leaving doesn’t leave it in the room. The kitchen wasn’t well equipped either, so bring or buy what you need to cook. It’s only one train ride from the CCH, but even for the price I wouldn’t recommend staying here. You get what you pay for.
