Le Méridien Hamburg

The Heritage Bar made this stay especially memorable. The bartenders were all terrific, and one German bartender with glasses and suspenders really stood out. I can’t remember his name, but he shared lots of German recommendations, remembered which beers I liked, and always made me feel looked after. I’m not sure he knew I’m a titanium elite member with Marriott. He simply gave the kind of attention that makes you feel at home. I love this property and won’t book anywhere else in Hamburg. The rooms are excellent, the spa and sauna are great, the gym has very nice equipment, and the location is excellent. After such a special visit, I’ll consider this brand more for other destinations too. Danke Hamburg!!

The two charging points in the garage are free, which is a good policy, but they charge slowly at 4kw/h. With my 100kw battery at 55%, the estimate was 15 hours, so the option to leave your keys at reception for them to move your car once it’s charged wasn’t useful for me. Elsewhere, the hotel was really nice, with large rooms and good beds. The wifi was only so-so. Breakfast was the one other letdown: the pasteurized orange juice didn’t fit the otherwise luxurious feel. Fresh or at least cold-pressed juice would have been better.

We had lovely views from our room, which was beautiful and well kept. The hotel itself is in a great location and is clearly well maintained. I liked being able to handle everything with the technology, from check-in through checkout, without needing to speak to anyone. I’d highly recommend it.

The hotel’s location made it easy to feel the city’s vibe, and the sunsets were amazing. The staff were welcoming and the service was fantastic. I can’t wait to come back to this hotel in Hamburg!
