I had a poor experience and wouldn't stay here again. At check-in they gave me a key for the wrong room, and it turned out another guest was already inside. That was completely unacceptable. The front desk often had no one there, even at times staff were meant to be available. Rooms also aren't cleaned or serviced unless you specifically ask. Between those housekeeping and organization problems, I can't recommend the hotel.

The air conditioning heated the room as expected, but dust had built up where the air comes out. Depending on your tolerance, you might wake with a blocked nose and sore throat. The bathroom had marks too, and I didn't feel the room was worth what we paid. We only stayed one night. The room looked okay until I sat on the bed. It was worn out and far too soft, so I sank into it and had to put a pillow under my hips. Two different single beds had been pushed together to make a double, with steel edges, and I kept rolling toward the middle. The bed was the biggest disappointment.

The hotel is lovely, and I'd definitely stay again if I come back to Hamburg. Staff greeted us warmly and were happy to help, and even the lobby smelled beautiful. Our room was tidy, cozy, and lovely to come back to in the bitter cold. We were there for a couple of days and were told rooms wouldn't be cleaned daily unless we asked. We didn't mind, since we were told the money would go toward feeding children. The location also worked out better than we expected. The DOM and St Pauli station were very close, with easy airport and city center access for shopping. It's a 30-minute walk to the center if you prefer, and the Repperbahn with its different kinds of clubs is nearby. We also found the naughty Christmas Markets at Spieldbudenplatz.
