For a three-star hotel, it was as good as you could expect, which is why I gave it five stars. The rooms were comfortable and regularly cleaned, and there wasn't much street noise despite the convenient nightlife location. Good showers, nice bathrooms, and friendly reception staff. Breakfast is available each day, and you can get drinks at reception and use the sofa area as you like. Thanks.

I only stayed one night, which was a pity, because the place felt like home. This hotel deserves more than three stars. Highly recommended.

The room was nice for the price, and the staff were pleasant. Breakfast, though, was really bad.

The bed was nice and firm, and the shower had decent water pressure. There was no AC, but keeping the window open made the room okay, despite some street noise. The hotel was also hard to find in the middle of the night, even with GPS. I was just passing through Hamburg and needed somewhere to sleep, and for a decent price the hotel was okay, with breakfast included. Underground parking costs an extra 16€ per night. Breakfast wasn't much to get excited about, but it was enough to get through to lunch. The scrambled and boiled eggs weren't really warm, and the yogurt, butter and other cold items weren't really cold. They did have fresh whole fruit, including bananas and apples.

Altona was a great base, with plenty to do nearby. The rooms were very clean, and shutting the window made it quiet enough to sleep well. The staff were kind and helpful, and I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Hamburg.
