Superbude Hotel Hostel St.Pauli

This was our second visit, and the room felt like home to our son. It was clean, tidy, and spacious. The location is hard to beat: a five-minute walk from the stadium and Saint-Pauli district, with bus lines 3 and 5 to the city center stopping right across the street. The staff are the best I've ever come across at a hotel. Charming, attentive, and always smiling, they helped us with the room booking, a taxi, our luggage, and even playing with our son. They're angels!

Breakfast was really good and fairly priced, with breads, toppings, fruit, juices, waffles you make yourself, eggs, granola, and yogurt. The coffee machine was better than the usual hotel one. The staff were lovely and friendly, and drinks from the lobby were reasonably priced. I also liked having no mini fridge in the room. There's free luggage storage if you arrive early or need to wait after checkout, and the lounge or breakfast area is a nice spot for board games or drinks with friends. The area is great for foodies, with lots of amazing restaurants. The rooms are nicely decorated and feel homely, and were really nice in fall. But there are a few inconveniences. There's no AC, just a small desk fan. The shower sits on a raised floor with the drain inside it, so it's easy for water to spill over and make a mess. The bathroom has no floor heating, only a ceiling heating lamp, which I found quite inconvenient.

It's a nice-looking place, but the lack of soundproofing made the room really uncomfortable. I could hear my neighbors' conversations, their faucet and shower, footsteps overhead, and everything in the hallway. Outside traffic was loud too, even with the windows shut.
