Vier Jahreszeiten

I was there for a business trip and got a room in the building that used to be Hotel Schnookeloch, now Restaurant Schnookeloch, with its rooms included in this hotel. The hallway had a pleasant old, cared-for feel, but the main room had old, slightly damaged furniture. The bathroom was modern. My pillow was lumpy and uncomfortable, and the room was quite dark because the side lamps were dim and there was no ceiling light. I was especially disappointed by that and by the very small desk I tried to use for work.

The location was perfect, close to everything, and our room was quiet, large, and comfortable. The people were friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast was a nice way to start the day. It’s a wonderful hotel and a pleasant place to stay in Heidelberg for good value.

The hotelier was jolly and pleasant, and the old building was kept very clean and tidy. We only had breakfast there, so I can’t comment on the other food. It’s right by the river, two minutes from the Marktplatz and church, with bars and restaurants nearby. A great base for wandering around Heidelberg’s old town. 👍🏻

Thomas was the best, so welcoming and jovial. Our room overlooked the river and bridge, which really made the experience worthwhile. The room itself was spacious, though the bathroom was tiny. We had to ask at the desk for a hair dryer, and there weren’t other amenities like lotion. Breakfast was good, the usual European fare.
