Hotel Leegerpark

The breakfast buffet is superb and thoughtfully prepared. The hotel is central but still quiet, and the rooms are furnished with care and quality. Even the toiletries provided are high quality, from Rituals.

We stayed in your apartment/maisonette for five nights and paid over €1000. Rather than post on several online platforms, we wrote directly to you, as your website says you welcome feedback and new ideas. It’s been over a week, including a follow-up, and we still haven’t had a reply. We want to praise the breakfast, especially the young woman who was so friendly and hardworking. She’s an outstanding employee, and we hope you recognize that. Our own interactions with you felt limited to a brief greeting, if that, and we would have appreciated being asked how the stay was going. When the hot water was out one morning, we weren’t told in advance and ended up facing a cold shower. We had to ask what was wrong, and there was no apology or small gesture afterward. The wicker chairs were uncomfortable, so we asked whether there were footstools. Your employee kindly arranged one for us. The shower itself was nice, but the water pressure was poor. There were no bathroom hooks for towels, and the towels could do with replacing. On arrival, the balcony ashtray was overflowing. When we mentioned it, your employee seemed surprised that it might cause a bad impression. The TV says it can play radio stations, but that feature didn’t work. The restaurant terrace is beautiful, and we ate there one afternoon. My wife’s crab soup was barely half a bowl, which was disappointing at that price. You may see these comments as nitpicking, but the place presents itself as high quality, including the top-designed Rivera Maison furnishings, so we wanted to pass the feedback along. Addendum, June 25, 2025: You left this part out of the reply we just received by email: “If you notice problems during a future hotel or holiday rental stay, please raise them directly with the accommodation provider. As mentioned, only people who speak up can be helped.” Or, as you put it below, are we “complaining about trivial matters”? Our response to you: Mr. Jürgens, It’s interesting that you only contacted us after the Google reviews appeared :) Your “arrogance” and already quite pronounced “self-important demeanor,” which my wife and I both experienced, came through clearly again in your message. That confirmed the impression we got during our stay. This has nothing to do with “North German/East Frisian reserve.” Everyone else we met in shops, restaurants, and snack bars was extremely friendly, natural, and attentive to their guests and customers. The whole “Prosecco” thing should be embarrassing for you. Unfortunately, not everyone has self-reflection.

We had a lovely short break over Christmas and will definitely come back :-). The room was great, and the location was quiet. We could leave the car parked and walk a short way to the town center.

The room was absolutely gorgeous, and I found the hotel so lovely. There was loads of choice at breakfast, enough to try something different each day, and the service was very friendly. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
