The breakfast was fine, but the room was awful. It smelled strongly of stale damp, felt very old, and badly needed renovation. For the roughly 214 I paid for two nights, maybe that’s what I should expect, but I can’t see this as a three-star hotel. One star at most. It was the worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, more like something I might expect in rural Russia than in the center of Europe.

Everything was very clean, and the room and bathroom were comfortable. The hotel is right by the train station and the airport bus stop, which made getting around easy. The staff were fantastic and really helpful. A wonderful, friendly place.

The breakfast was excellent, and the rooms stayed quiet despite the location. The air conditioning also worked well in 36-degree heat. The rooms are dated, and the mattresses and pillows could use an update, but cleanliness and quiet mattered more to me than modern furnishings.

I’ve stayed here twice and already look forward to coming back. It’s right across from the train station, the staff are kind and accommodating, and the price is reasonable. Above all, it’s exceptionally clean. This is my go-to place in Mainz.

The beds were good, though the pillows were very flat. There were extras to stack, but I need a supportive pillow. The room was spotless, the bathroom was large and very clean, and the shower was great. The AC worked really well, and staff were friendly and helpful, including with information about our time in Mainz. The hotel is across the street from the train station, with a grocery store and restaurants an easy walk away. There’s a strip club about three doors down. We were with our two teenage sons and walked past several times, but nobody approached them. With the train connection to the airport, it’s a good place to stay outside Frankfurt.
