Motel One Mannheim

It’s in a really safe, central spot close to shops and restaurants, and the hotel was very clean with great service. The rooms don’t have a fridge, though, and the TV had no English channels and didn’t work. Everything else was great.

After a long drive, I got to Motel One Mannheim at around 1 AM hoping to find a room. The staff first said there was availability and asked for my card and ID. I went back to my car for the documents, but when I returned, the two staff members talked to each other and left me waiting without addressing me. I politely asked if we could move things along since it was so late and I just wanted to rest. One staff member then abruptly refused to check me in, even though I was ready to pay the full €110 and skip any extras. The interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. I ended up sleeping in my car instead of getting the rest I needed. I stay at hotels often, and this was far below an acceptable standard. I hope Motel One management takes this seriously and improves its customer service.

Really friendly, helpful staff and a comfortable room. The location is handy too, with tram lines and a Rewe supermarket nearby, and it’s reasonably priced for business trips or a family stay. Breakfast was nice, though I’d have liked more hot choices like scrambled eggs or omelets. One other thing, the shower door wouldn’t close, so it was hard to keep the bathroom floor dry. Still, the service was amazing and I’d definitely recommend the hotel.

The rooms were very clean and the location is really good. Otherwise, it’s a pretty standard hotel with no room service. The bar staff weren’t very friendly.
