Abasto Hotel München Feldmoching

The U-Bahn station is right across from the hotel, which made getting around very easy. We booked at the last minute through Agoda for 60 EUR per night and stayed over a long weekend in May. After initially reserving two days, we booked one more night in the same room category on Agoda. The receptionist was friendly and helped us stay in the same room. Staff spoke English, and when we asked the front desk for housekeeping, someone arrived and cleaned the room in under 30 minutes. It was prompt. We did find a small bug in the room. The shower could use a full door instead of a half door because water splashed out, and although the minimum temperature was 18 deg C, the AC felt a bit weak. Aside from that, it was a good place for our long weekend.

Lufthansa paid for my stay after a delayed flight forced me to stay overnight. Check-in was listed as 3 pm, but many of us passengers who had arrived several hours earlier were allowed in sooner. I appreciated that the receptionist gave priority to people with small children. I was traveling alone, but thought that was a nice gesture. The restaurant on site served an excellent, filling dinner, and the price felt fair for the value. The men working at the bar provided high quality service. Everyone at the property spoke English, which helped me and the other stranded passengers. Staying at Abasto was probably the only good thing Lufthansa did for us.

The breakfast selection was amazing, and the food was very tasty. Reception was friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome and at home. It’s a modern, attractive hotel beside public transport and several shops. The room was functional and big enough for two adults, though not especially spacious, and the bathroom was adequate. The Wi-Fi was terrible, and parking costs an extra €15/night, with hardly any parking available elsewhere.

The Greek restaurant was a real highlight, with the best Greek food I’ve had in a long time and attentive, friendly staff. I also found the breakfast fresh and good, even if the buffet wasn’t large. My room was clean and the blackout curtains worked well, though the air conditioning barely responded to the thermostat and could have been cooler. The hotel is just steps from the train station, so getting to the airport was easy despite the roughly 20-minute ride. There’s a small supermarket across the street, too. Lufthansa put me up here after delays made me miss my connection. The staff were helpful and cordial, and I’d stay again.
