MAXIMILIAN MUNICH Apartments & Hotel

We loved the location, and the staff were great and accommodating. The rooms had AC and stayed cool. It was relatively quiet much of the time, though that varied. Some nights we could open the windows without noise; other nights it was quite loud. With the windows shut, we didn’t hear anything. There’s a lot of construction around, though honestly that’s all over the city, and it wasn’t loud at any unreasonable hour. We’d stay here again if we return.

The location made it easy to get around on foot, and the historic, super cool Hofbrauhaus was only two minutes away. We stayed in a studio with our toddler, and the space worked well for our family. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. We were welcomed enthusiastically, found it easy to check in, and felt comfortable asking questions in English. The staff were also great about getting our rental car into their parking garage. There was construction, but it didn’t negatively affect our stay. Would definitely recommend.

It worked well for our group of three generations, my parents and our kids, and we’d happily stay again on a future Munich trip. The location is excellent, on a quiet street a few blocks from Marienplatz in the Altstadt. The rooms are quite big, and the staff are very friendly. We didn’t hear other guests, though maybe we were lucky. The building seems to dampen sound well, and the doors are sturdy. We did see plenty of people in the restaurant, so it wasn’t empty. Breakfast at the restaurant costs extra, and there isn’t a lobby, just the restaurant. The staff were happy for us to sit in the glass-enclosed patio sometimes for a quick break or a game of cards. The courtyard was very pretty, with hydrangeas in full bloom. There’s a new apartment building being constructed next door. We didn’t hear noise in the evening or morning, though it seems to start around 8:00 a.m.

During our trip of just over three weeks in Europe, this was by far the nicest and largest hotel. The City Suite was modern and clean, with a comfortable true king sized bed, plus a separate room with a sofa bed and kitchenette. The garden is lovely. There’s a lot of construction at both the front and rear, which takes away from the hotel’s beauty, but we weren’t disturbed by the noise. Linda at the front desk was always smiling and gave exceptional service, going above and beyond. Thanks to Linda and the staff. We hope to visit Munich and the Maximilian again!
