Augusten Hotel

I'd stayed here before, but this visit was a big disappointment. I asked for a quiet room and got a vague answer that it would depend on availability. The room I was given was near the tram line, on the corner, and I couldn't sleep for three nights. The pillows were too high and poor quality, so sleeping was hard. During my four nights, housekeeping came only once, after I requested it. I left cookies by the French window because the refrigerator was noisy, and when I came back that evening, the box was gone. I believe the cleaner took them. At checkout, Mrs. Eugenia refused to give me her name or the manager's and was very rude. I needed an invoice for my company, but she printed one before I'd even given her the company details. When I asked her to correct it, she raised her voice and insisted I return in the morning, even though I had to leave at 6 a.m. and she wasn't busy. She agreed to fix it only after I asked for the manager. I've worked as a manager at Accor Group- Sofitel Hotel, and I've never seen this kind of attitude in a hotel. If I were her manager, she would be out the next day. This was my last time staying here.

We picked this hotel for its location, just a few minutes on foot from Munich Hbf, and stayed four days and three nights. It was clean, but the rest felt average. The front desk staff weren't welcoming, and early check-in cost extra. There were only two pillows for the king bed, and we could hear the tram from our room even though it wasn't right by the road. I wouldn't stay here again.

The price was good, breakfast was good, and the staff were helpful. It's my favorite place to stay in central Munich.

The staff were friendly, and at about 100€, the price was really fair by Munich standards. They took a while to find my reservation at check-in, though. I stayed one night recently and mostly had a good experience. It's centrally located, a few minutes' walk from the Hauptbahnhof (Central Station). The room and interior are a little old-fashioned but perfectly usable. It was quite warm, and the shower could use stronger water pressure. They provided two free bottles of water.
