Hotel Blauer Bock

The location worked well for our Christmas markets visit, but an incident with housekeeping left us uncomfortable. We’d gone to breakfast and came back shortly afterward to find the cleaner using my personal phone charger for her own phone, without asking. I told management. Their response was, “thanks for letting us know”. It didn’t restore our sense of privacy or trust. Using a guest’s belongings this way is inappropriate, and management needs to make staff boundaries clear.

The rooms are okay, nothing special, and the bathroom is tiny, though the shower has good pressure. It can be noisy. The location is a perfect 10/10, right beside the plaza, so that’s part of the tradeoff.

The place was spotless, and they were able to accommodate my late arrival. The breakfast buffet was top level, and when the market is open it’s hard to beat the location for exploring the old city. There was no AC in the room, which had been disclosed when I booked, and the small fan was noisy. Also, with 10+ rooms, one shared restroom per gender seemed scarce.

Everything was exceptionally clean, and the staff were really friendly. We were only steps from the main attractions, and the hotel restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I’d give it more than five stars if I could. I’ll definitely come back.
