For the good points, it's cheap and the bed is comfortable. The room itself was run down, with sticky flooring and a sticky bath mat. My towel looked clean but had a visible dark stain, the curtains didn't cover the whole window, and the lamp hummed when switched on. At check-in, the entrance was locked and nobody was there at 2.15pm, so I had to call. The staff were friendly, but didn't seem familiar with using a computer. I was told the back door, called the night entrance, stays open whenever the front is closed. The front door is always closed, so the back door is effectively open to the public, since it's unlocked. That made me worry I couldn't lock my room. You need a card to get in from outside, but seeing the kind of people around still made me feel less safe.

The place is really run down, with broken lights, a torn curtain, and doors that don't lock properly. Parking is available, but there's not much of it, and I wouldn't trust an offer to reserve a space. You can order food there, though it's very basic and not especially cheap for the atmosphere. It seems to cater to migrant workers on long stays.

The showers were fantastic, and the beds were amazingly comfortable. It was clean and warm, and the receptionist was very nice and spoke perfect English. St. Quirin Platz Ubahn is only a short walk away.

Workmen made a racket outside our room door and woke us up. Staff were hardly ever around, so there was no one to help, answer questions, or sort out problems. If you don't know how things work, you can get locked in without knowing how to get out. We saw one poor bloke standing outside in the cold for 20 minutes, unsure how to get in after being told someone would meet him there. You certainly get what you pay for.

We had a terrific time and I'd go again. The place was clean and quiet, with a view of the garden. It's in a good, accessible location by a Metro station, and the heating worked properly during a very cold spell. The price was OK too.
