The rooms were super clean and new, and it’s a clean, safe neighborhood. It’s a comfortable five-minute walk to tram 19, which goes straight to Marienplatz and haubtbahnhof in less than 20 minutes. If check-in had gone smoothly, I would have rated it five stars. We booked through Expedia, but weren’t given the actual address and spent well over an hour trying to find the place. It’s in a quiet residential area, with no check-in desk, and responses were spotty. I emailed the night before to say we’d arrive at 1:30 pm and ask for the address, but got no reply. We only knew the street name, and when we called the number we had, nobody answered. Expedia didn’t know the address either, but spent nearly an hour trying to reach them without success. Luckily, a courier making deliveries helped us find the building, though nobody was there. Then someone staying there came out and told us a cleaning staff member was inside, so we were able to get in.

We were left outside for two and a half hours in 2° weather, with no entry code or check-in instructions. We’d chosen this place specifically because late check-in was listed as an option, and we arrived in Munich late at night. AirBnb luckily found us a nearby hotel. The host only replied the next day to say late check-in wasn’t available, without acknowledging that we’d been stranded in an unfamiliar city where we didn’t speak the language.

I stayed at Sunnyside apartments in Laim from December 2020 through April 2021 and everything went smoothly. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and everything worked. Getting access was easy too, including picking up the key outside regular hours. The landlady was friendly and accommodating. Thanks for the hospitality, I’d recommend staying here if you need a place in Munich.
