Hampton by Hilton Munich City West

Breakfast had a good spread, though it was the same every day. The reception staff gave great service overall. The rooms were clean, but the air conditioning was centrally controlled and the temperature stayed warm. We kept the window open for cool air over our three nights. Our travelling thermometer showed 23.5c at the coolest and 26 at the warmest, while air from the vent was 25c. The room control panel was set to 19.5c, but that didn’t work either. I reported it to reception, and they lowered the central temperature, though we couldn’t feel a difference. Other tables were also reporting that the breakfast area was warm.

The hotel suited our group of eight friends perfectly for our three-night Oktoberfest visit. We could walk easily to Theresienwiese and it was a 30-minute walk to the city centre. There were some bars nearby, including a brewery, plus a restaurant and convenience store. Donnersbergerbrucker railway stn is right next door, with a direct route to the airport. The staff were all very helpful, and there’s a nice bar and breakfast room, though it got a little crowded at times. Our room was on the ground floor by the railway, but even with the windows open we had no noise problem. It was good, spotlessly clean, and well appointed. I can’t understand the general rating. For us, it couldn’t have been better.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. The rooms are a very reasonable price and the service is excellent. It’s near the main station, right in the heart of the city, and close to the S-Bahn, tram, and bus stops. Perfect place to stay.

Hampton Inn locations outside the USA are always miles above what we experience back home, and this one was no exception. It’s clean, safe, and very centrally located. Grocery stores, cafes, and the Oktoberfest grounds are all an easy walk away. Breakfast was fine, with a decent range of options, and even during Oktoberfest the hotel didn’t feel too crazy. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
