Isar City Hotel

The only things I'd have liked were hangers in the cupboard and another table or counter in the deluxe double room. The neighborhood feels like a typical central train station area in a major European city, a bit rough, but completely safe to walk through, even at night. I wouldn't hesitate to return. The rooms have recently been renovated, with road noise kept out; beds and pillows were comfortable, and the bright bathrooms had strong hot showers, fresh white linen and towels, exhaust fans, and good winter heating. The mini fridge and safe were in good condition, the spacious new elevator worked well, and there's a coffee machine in the lobby. Everything was immaculately clean and smelled fresh. Reception and housekeeping staff were outstanding.

The coffee place next door is delicious and opens at 6:30, a great stop before the day starts. The hotel itself is modest, clean, and well located, with a spotless room and super friendly staff. A lovely place to rest after a long day exploring beautiful Munich.

Parking behind the hotel is a big plus. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the clean enough rooms are fine for a short visit in an otherwise expensive city. It's in a lively area, close to the train station and near enough to the center, though I wouldn't feel safest out in the neighborhood in the middle of the night. You can hear the neighbors through the walls.

Hotel Isar is only a 7-minute walk from the train station, with the old town a short ride away, and I'll come back next time I'm in Munich. The staff made this one of the friendliest hotel stays I've had in a long time. They were consistently kind and helpful, gave us advice about Munich, and offered extra help without hesitation. When the booking agency hadn't passed along the information properly, they arranged accommodation for an extra person and quickly brought everything up to our room.
