The bathroom fan blasted all night and couldn’t be switched off. The internet didn’t work, and the bathroom furniture was broken when I arrived. I told reception, but they didn’t seem to care much. There was no shower gel or shampoo either. Breakfast costs €19 a day and was well below average. It wasn’t the worst, but I won’t be back.

I got a great price through VRBO, so I was satisfied with the stay. I’m a harsh judge of poor accommodation, and this was a comfortable room for a couple of nights in late August 2025. The kitchenette had a hob, microwave, fridge, and enough utensils and cookware for my needs. It was easy to get snacks in the evening and a hot breakfast in the morning. The shower was great, the bathroom clean, and the bed comfortable, though softer than I prefer. I found the electric shutters and got the room completely dark. Who doesn’t try all the buttons and switches? The U-Bahn station is right by the adjacent hotel entrance, about 60 metres from the apartments, and gets you to the city center quickly. Parking was €20 a night for my rental car, which seems normal for a big city. I’m from London, so I’m used to that. I picked up food at an Aldi (or was it Lidl?) on the way from the airport, though I think food shops are about 15-20 minutes from the hotel. Someone called the area sketchy, but that’s complete rubbish. I live in Inner City London, and this felt like a quiet, safe, pleasant outer-city neighborhood. I saw no sign of anything sketchy, just people walking to and from the U-Bahn and hotel. Reception is in the hotel rather than the apartments, which makes sense since the hotel needs a 24/7 staffed desk and the apartments don’t. It’s easy to get between the hotel, apartments, and car park. The reserved parking spaces could be marked better, or signs at the entrance could show where they are. Highly recommended.

The location was very good, and the stay was fine, but there were small problems that could be fixed. The towels were old, there weren’t many dishes, and you couldn’t really cook in the rooms. We sometimes had no hot water, both early in the morning and in the evening, and there was no hairdryer. I’d suggest replacing the towels, sorting out the water and vending machines, adding dishes and hairdryers, or at least asking guests if they need one. Then it would be really nice.

There’s potential here, and it was reasonably priced for a place to sleep, cook, and shower. The U-Bahn is directly outside, the basement laundry is good, and the kitchen is well equipped. But the service and upkeep felt like they’d gone downhill. It came across more like an unserviced apartment, perhaps once well equipped with good service. The pillows and linens were poor quality, and the single-bed-sized sheets looked ridiculous on a queen bed. The microwave smelled as if it hadn’t been cleaned in years. There’s no reception onsite, which wasn’t mentioned in the listing or before check-in. You have to go to a separate partner hotel to check in. The automatic curtains worked when they felt like it and went up by themselves in the morning. The main entrance lock was odd to use, and there was no shampoo. The area also felt a bit sketchy compared with other parts of Munich. A lot of this could be fixed easily. Send the check-in directions by email ahead of time, make them clear, and tell guests if something is defective.
