We liked being across from the English garden, with tram and underground stations close by. Having the restaurant downstairs was handy too. The daily breakfast was well stocked, and we enjoyed stopping there for a drink in the evening. We were in Munich for a conference and vacation. Check-in was easy, and they stored our luggage when we arrived too early for the room. It was comfortable and stayed cool with just the fan, despite there being no AC. As others have mentioned, there's no elevator, but that wasn't an issue for us.

The cafe downstairs was okay, but I had a terrible stay and wouldn't recommend this hotel. The room was dusty enough to keep triggering my wife's allergies, and there were brown marks on the upholstered chairs and yellowish staining on the toilet. The standalone shower was clogged and water went everywhere. There were no coffee or tea bags, no kettle, and nowhere to sit for coffee or tea. The temperature was fixed, the furniture was old, and there wasn't enough space to hang suits. There's also no elevator, which isn't convenient for seniors or children. My company booked my room. When my wife joined me for the second night, I told the front desk, but we weren't given extra pillows, bedding, or towels. Still, they charged €40 at checkout. The hotel cost €200, compared with about €100 for the Hilton in the city, and wasn't worth it.

The photos made this place look much nicer than it was. I booked for my parents without visiting first, and at €170 a night, I expected a proper reception area. Instead, there's a tiny desk tucked under the stairs in a small corridor, and the entrance feels more like a grimy hostel. Then you have to haul your bags up lots of stairs because there's no elevator. The hotel felt old, smelly, and outdated, with student hostel vibes throughout. My parents' basic room smelled like old, stinky socks. It was disgusting. There was no safe for valuables, nowhere to put their clothes, and the bathroom looked unfinished with no place for toiletries. They also told me breakfast was disgusting. This should cost €40 a night, not €170. It's overpriced and overrated, and there are much nicer places to stay in Munich. Do NOT stay here.

A refreshing change from the predictable chain hotels. This place is beautiful and quirky, and my basic single room was comfortable and convenient. Breakfast was great, with fresh bread, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, and plenty of cereals. There was no in-room safe, the TV was tiny, and I had to climb three flights of stairs since there isn't a lift.

I was there for Adele’ concert. The hotel was very clean and the service was really nice. It got a little too hot in the room since there was no air conditioner, and opening the windows meant dealing with too much noise.
